Barlig remains 1st, Sadanga wins gold PDF Print E-mail

Once again Barlig, represented by Eastern Bontoc National Agricultural Vocatiuonal HS Cultural Troupe, tops the cultural competition for secondary level.

They said that their experience last year gave them a chance to do better. They performed the making of “afong” or a cogon house.

The troupe’s coaches are Julius Mataag, Lalaine Pecdalen and Herbert Binwag.

The judges during the finals were Mr. Dave Gulian, Mrs. Gina Dizon and Mrs. Mary Carling. The scores were computed and Barlig District came first followed by Bontoc District represented by Talubin National High School coached by Mrs. Edna Loya and then Paracelis District represented by BNTAS - Anonat Annex (Baccari National Agricultural School) with their coach Jean Loise A. Balacnit.

Out of twelve divisions of Mountain Province, only eight districts performed. Bauko II, Tadian I and II and Natonin were not present.

Sadanga Shakes with the Gongs

Anabel Elementary School Cultural Troupe representing the district of Sadanga won the elementary cultural presentations during the second Mountain Province Festival of the Arts held on October 24 at the SMS quadrangle.

Bauko I, Bauko II, Besao, Bontoc, Natonin, Sabangan, Sadanga, Sagada and Tadian I all battled it out in the Cultural Competition in this year.

Judging the performance of the cultural troupes this year were Mr. Dave Gulian, Ms. Gina Dizon and Ms. Mary Carling.

Bagnen Oriente Elementary School of Bauko I with their coach Freda Wadwada came third and Bontoc Central School came second with their coach Vicente S. Tad-awan. #

Principals Training:  Ms. Gay Pascual and Mr. Melvin Magsanoc will join Sir Fau on February 27 in Natonin for the training of public school principals in the eastern part of Mt. Province.  They will demonstrate student-centered instruction and they will also facilitate some sessions. The training is scheduled on February 24-29 with Sir Fau as the trainer.

 

Sagada Cooperative Assembly:  The Sagada Cooperative will hold its general assembly in the school gym on March 3 (Saturday).  The third year students are tasked to prepare the gym as part of their fund-raising activity as they still have to raise funds to cover the expenses during the JSP.
