Fifty-four students joined the art competition during the Festival.
Contestants were given two choices of theme, “Year of the Forest” and “Importance and Relevance of Culture in the 21st century.” Dr. Clare Lalwet, Mrs. Christina Aben, and Ms. Miriam Daoas judged all the art pieces.
Sagada District won all art competition in the elementary level. Rosalyn Balisong of Antadao Elementary School, Sagada, representing the Grade 4 category, won first place. She was coached by Mr. Elmer Bangtat. Second place was given to Bauko 1, represented by Jericho Basilio of Lagawa Elementary School, coached by Ms. Merly Liwayan. Third place was handed to Zenith Oryan representing Barlig. She was coached by Ms. Celita Martinez and comes from Barlig Central School.
Sagada won first place in Poster Making, Grade 5 category, represented by Lloid Gayagay of Sagada Central School. He was coached by Ms. Mona Doris Aragon. Second place goes to Regine Delos Reyes of Madepdepas Elementary School, Sabangan. She was coached by Ms. Erlinda Daday. Joshriel Bugnosen of Bauko 1, Bali Elementary School is handed third place. He was coached by Ms. Evangeline Buclay.
Coached by Ms. Jocelyn Kowet, Benito Domanog of Antadao Elementary School, Sagada bagged first place in the Grade 6 category. Bless Annoque of Natonin Elementary School got second place. She was coached by Mr. Armando Bangilan. Third place is handed to Crismer Culop of Tadian 2, Cadad-anan Elementary School. He was coached by Ms. Fely Micklay.
In the high school art competition, twenty-four contestants bested each other. Drawing, coloring and painting their time away, the pieces of three talented contestants stood out. First place went to Bauko 2 represented by Delpead Gayudan ofMount Data National High School and coached by Ms. Analiza Dicdican. Artemio Dapadap of Bacarri National Trade Agriculture School, Paracelis has come a long way to win second place coached by Ms. Florence Parpali. Coming from Albago National High School, Bontoc, John Falag-ey coached by Ms. Criselda Anongos grabbed third place. # by Jenny Rogers
