SMSS tops the NAT PDF Print E-mail

Saint Mary's School of Sagada ranks number one among the 58 private and public schools in Mountain Province who participated in the National Achievement Test (NAT) last school year 2009-2010. This is the second time that SMSS will top the NAT since its participation last school year. The school average this year is 57.09. It is lower than last years average by .41 points.

There were 42 second year students who took the exam. Thirty-nine of them are currently in school. The others transferred to other schools. These are also the centennial batch.

James Faustino, one of the second year students who took the exam had a percentile rank in English of 99 plus.

Lubon NHS, Tadian came in second with 55.93 and Guinzadan NHS, Bauko came in third with 54.81.

Sagada NHS ranked 14th with 48.78 average. Saint James HS ranked 15th with 48.37 average. Bangaan NHS ranked 17th with an average of 47.8. Antadao NHS ranked 18th with 47.05 and Ankileng NHS ranked 36th with 42.38 average.

Principals Training:  Ms. Gay Pascual and Mr. Melvin Magsanoc will join Sir Fau on February 27 in Natonin for the training of public school principals in the eastern part of Mt. Province.  They will demonstrate student-centered instruction and they will also facilitate some sessions. The training is scheduled on February 24-29 with Sir Fau as the trainer.

 

Sagada Cooperative Assembly:  The Sagada Cooperative will hold its general assembly in the school gym on March 3 (Saturday).  The third year students are tasked to prepare the gym as part of their fund-raising activity as they still have to raise funds to cover the expenses during the JSP.
